eat the floor!

A contemporary ceremony

Eat the floor - a contemporary ceremony presents the ceremonial act of the ceremony in its most beautiful splendour.

Four selected dancers open the circle of social negotiations. The Master of Ceremonies as the highest authority, decides on progress or failure. The purpose of this ceremony - the dissolution of gravity, free fall. It's not flying up here, it's falling down. The soil must be eaten to be led into the bottomless.

The ceremony becomes an act of violence. There is no longer any difference between seriousness and play. The free will of a human individual is superior to the social and cultural will. Some kind of violence that comes with liberation. A positive feeling of relief. The social pressure implodes in the collective act of a selection process and at the same time is proof of being part of a group, of belonging. A confirmation of one's own existence, also in society. If I would also like to protect the collective and its act of sacrifice, I use the divine, the supernatural and the unfathomable as justification.

Anybody mind? "Then may he speak now or forever hold his peace!"
