SPRING BREAK

In the project "Spring Break" PLAN MEE will relocate Igor Stravinsky's masterpiece "Le Sacre du Printemps" to today's young generation.

Focusing on new behaviour patterns, the phenomenon "Spring Break" is being explored.

During Spring Break, students all across America gather at party venues to celebrate extensively. There, large groups of young people meet up to forget about the stressful university life by drinking huge amounts of alcohol accompanied by all sorts of drugs. Alongside the consequences of alcohol and drug abuse, it's not unusual that there will also be public display of nudity and promiscuity. Thus, the sacred dance is getting a new twist: It's not a virgin that gets sacrificed anymore, bure more than one virfinity is falling by the wayside.

Like this, spring itself falls prey and has to fight - represented by Stravinsky's music - for its right in a new world, where it can only find its place throgh transformation.
